About the artist
Mohammed Ali, born and raised in Birmingham, UK, is renowned as one of the forerunners of Islamic Graffiti style.
His work is influenced by both Urban-Street graffiti as well as classical Islamic calligraphy, himself being once part of the underground graffiti scene within the UK. He has since left this and now concentrates on painting canvas and exhibiting his work throughout the UK as well as abroad.
After graduating in Multimedia Design he worked as a graphic designer for a record company, and then worked for a games company designing graphics. The influence from digital design and computer graphics has been a big factor in his style of painting, as well as the urban-graffiti style from earlier years.
